N.B. Chester Film Society started showing films in 1972. Our records go back to 1990 but the level of detail really only improves from 2023 onwards. Also, we do not ask our audiences for comments and ratings for our summer season films and record less detail for those films than we do for our main season screenings.

In this true story told through flashbacks, Christy Brown is born with crippling cerebral palsy into a poor, working-class Irish family. Able only to control movement in his left foot and to speak in guttural sounds, he is mistakenly believed to be retarded for the first ten years of his life.
